The new bourbon is matured in char level 4 barrels and then finished in French oak staves that have been over charred. With that description, I had to crack it right after the photo shoot. Nose: maple syrup, molasses, vanilla, toffee , butterscotch and charred oak. Such a great nose, reminiscent of the toasted barrel bourbons. Palate: toasted marshmallow, toffee, butterscotch that fades away into a lovely charred oak. The finish lingers and lingers. It must be the French oak staves that attribute to the everlasting finish. This is solid AF bourbon candy! Hats off to the team @goldbarwhiskey for bringing this exceptionally tasting bourbon to the market. If you like the Balmorhea bourbon, this one here will be up your alley. It�s like it, but elevated and refined. Do yourself a favor and give this one a go, for $35 MSRP it�s probably the best you�ll ever have for that price point. It punches well above it�s weight class. This one is exceptional, glad to have had a chance to snatch a bottle.

Nice Everyday Sip Whiskey

I'm always up for trying new local spirits so I bought this on a whim at Fremont Total and was not disappointed. Easy going whiskey that drinks like an Irish blend or a light unpeated scotch with sherry cask finish. Cheers
